The Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange, has enjoined the Muslim community in the state to resolve to make various sacrifices for the development of the State and Country as they mark the holy feast of Eid-el-Kabir.
He said sacrifices could be in the form of praying for the state and the country, embracing the new orientation campaign of the nation and exercising patience as the government explores necessary options to get the country out of the present economic downturn.
Ikyange stated this in a goodwill message to the Muslim Ummar as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, noting that these sacrifices are panacea for the corporate existence of the state and country.
The Speaker, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Bem Abunde, charged them to emulate the sacrificial life style of the Holy Prophet Ibrahim by doing the will of God always and caring for the less privileged in the society as exemplified by the Prophet.
Ikyange, on behalf of the Principal officers, members and staff of the Assembly, wished the Muslim community a peaceful and happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
