Bandits, cattle rustlers invade Bauchi communities

Residents of Tilden Fulani and Narabi areas of Bauchi State now sleep with one eye open due to the incessant attacks by bandits and cattle rustlers.
The AUTHORITY learnt that business activities have been grounded as a result of the invasion of criminals who terrorised and rob the people and cattle owners who have farm houses in the communities.
A resident said that the attacks started last year when a gang of armed robbers stormed the area in the night operating from house-to-house and farm-to-farm.
Most of the attacks were said to have occurred in the night and lasted for several hours.
“They storm neighbouring communities and villages armed with sophisticated weapons and usually on motorcycles. Some of the criminals use dane-guns and other locally-made weapons to kill, maim and rape their victims, and steal cattle and other livestock,” he said
A farm house owner, Alh Tanko Sani Bala, said that the area has been attacked severally in the last three months and each time the bandits stormed, it was a bitter tale for victims. Areas robbed in recent times include: Tilden Fulani, Narabi and the surrounding villages along Summo road.
