China concludes plan to invest $40bn in Nigeria

Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi has said that his government has conclud­ed plans to make $40 billion in­vestment in the country.

Yi who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja during a joint briefing with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, Geoffrey Onyeama said Chinese government has invested $22 billion for completed projects in Nigeria and another $23 billion ongoing projects.

He said that Chinese govern­ment was working to ensure that outcome of the FOCAC summit is well implemented in Nigeria.

According to him, China and Nigeria have a good relationship, adding "our relations have been developing well."

Also speaking, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey On­yeama said meeting provides op­portunity to tap from the $60 billion Chinese government promised African countries last year to fund the various projects in the country.
