The Lagos state magistrate court recently ducked three men for allegedly armed with guns and other offensive weapons to steal items worth N380, 000.
The accused persons, Segun Muda, 58, Toheeb Oladele, 20, and Ben Micheal, 31, are standing trial on a three-count charge of conspiracy, armed robbery and malicious damage.
The prosecutor, Insp. Abbas Abayomi, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences on Dec. 19, at noon, at No. 3 Ajah Ibeju Lekki area of Ajah, Lagos.
He said that the accused conspired with others still at large to rob one Mr Rasaki Alado, of a cash sum of N25, 000 and 150 bags of cement worth N360, 000, all valued at N385, 000.
Abayomi also said that the accused maliciously damaged a building situated at Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos, belonging to Mr Alado.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 295, 348(4)(a), and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Komolafe granted them N500, 000 bail each with two sureties each in like sum. She said the sureties must be gainfully employed, must be related to the accused, must show three years tax payments to the Lagos State Government.
Komolafe, however adjourned the case till February 7, 2017 for mention.
