The new Commissioner of Police (CP) posted to Ebonyi State, Titus Lamorde, yesterday resumed duties and appealed for co-operation of various tiers of the government, security agencies and the media.
He assured residents of the state both rural and urban of adequate security of lives and property.
The CP appealed for synergy from relevant stakeholders in the state to enable him to provide the needed security and to engender peace in the state.
Lamorde, who reported to the Ebonyi State Police Command on Monday, told newsmen that he needs their cooperation and that of the government including persons occupying management positions to enable him to deliver on his new mandate.
CP Titus Lamorde, who hails from Mubi in Adamawa State, is the 18th Commissioner of Police since the creation of Ebonyi State in 1996 and took over from Peace Ibekwe Abdallah.
He added that he would consolidate on the achievement of his predecessor, adding that effort would be strengthened by the command to rid the state of criminals and their collaborators.
“I am from Adamawa State, Mubi Local Government Area. I just took over this morning and for now I have not gone round to brief you about so many things but for the time being, what I came here for is to do the job I am assigned to do”.
