Edo State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension it placed on the former Speaker and member representing Esan Central in the Assembly, Mr Victor Edoror.
The former Speaker was suspended for two months for failing to appear before the ad-hoc committee set up to investigate alleged financial misappropriation levelled against him during his tenure.Presenting the report of the committee to the Assembly, its Chairman and Chief Whip, Alhaji Kabiru Adjoto (APC Akoko-Edo), said Edoror has appeared before the reconstituted committee and supplied all needed information. Adjoto further stated that the committee came up with seven findings and four recommendations.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Justin Okonoboh, thereafter, ruled that the suspension be lifted, adding that the matter would be deliberated on a later date. Meanwhile, the House has adopted 55 sitting days as business calendar for third quarter and second session of the sixth Assembly.
The Majority Leader, Hon Foly Ogedegbe of Owan East Constituency presenting the business calendar of 55 days for the commencement of legislative activities for the third quarters and second section, said the months of January, February and March 12, 20, and 23 are sitting days, respectively.
