Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has missed out on a big chance to impress manager Brendan Rodgers after missing out on the team’s trip to Dubai.
Celtic are in Dubai for warm weather camping but the Nigerian was stopped from making the trip with the Scottish side due to immigration issues.
A statement on the official website revealed that the 28 year old centre back had visa issues, hence failed to make the trip with the rest of the squad to Dubai.
The Nigerian has fallen out of favour at Celtic, after a not too impressive start under Brendan Rodgers with two high profile errors in the early games of the manager’s reign.
Ambrose saw a deadline day move to Belgian side Standard Liege collapse, and missed out on a spot in the official list of the team’s squad for this season campaign, as they expected him to move.
Linked with a host of teams during the January transfer window, he has reportedly turned down clubs interested in his services as he wants to remain in Scotland, where he is due for citizenship in July.
