The Nigerian Council of Registered insurance Brokers (NCRIB) said it has admitted 18 new members to join the league of Society of Fellows of the Council. The admission brings to 70, the number of Fellows of the Council.
The Society of Fellows is the body of all Fellows of the Council including some notable net worth individuals in the society. The admission was in consonance with Section 6, Sub-section 4A of the NCRIB Act No. 21 of 2003.
According to the December edition of the Council’s Newsletter, the induction took place in Lagos recently.
Speaking at the ceremony, the NCRIB’s President, Mr. Kayode Okunoren, enjoined the new entrants to demonstrate high level of professionalism and assist in taking the broking profession to higher heights.
He noted that the process that led to the admission of the new Fellows was quite stringent, as the candidates were considered on the basis of professional qualifications, integrity and leadership traits, among other criteria.
According to him, “These hurdles have become necessary for the admission of the category of membership in view of the responsibility that the position behoves them. Aside from being expected to be beacon of light to inspire others, the new Fellows are required to be above board in all their undertakings.”
He said Fellows’ Day is held on a yearly basis to allow for high level professional and social interaction amongst Fellows for the continuous development of the Council.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Board of Fellows, Mr. Laide Osijo enjoined the newly inducted Fellows to hold themselves out as good ambassadors and role models whose conduct must be above board at all times.
