Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has commended the Nigerian Army for securing peace in the country and for dislodging the Boko Haram insurgents from Sambisa forest.
Represented by his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, he gave the commendation during the flag off of the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration, the launching of emblem week and fund raising for Nigeria Legion Projects, which held in Nicks Banquet Hall, Government House, Owerri, Imo State.
He stressed on the need to appreciate the sacrifices made by the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria saying all patriotic Nigerians should unite with them to support them in whatever way necessary.
He commended the military for dislodging the Boko Haram insurgents from their stronghold saying it is a testimonial that will remain indelible in Nigerian history.
He said: “The Nigerian Armed Forces deserves our support in whatever way necessary. They have continued to deny themselves of the pleasure of living as other citizens for our freedom and security. Many of them paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live.
