Special Sports Athletes in Lagos on Wednesday received a donation of 75 pairs of clutches and instruments of shoe, courtesy of popular fuji musician, King Saheed Osupa.
The presentation ceremony which took place at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos also saw the Fuji icon did an hour live performance for the Special Sports Athletes present on the occasion.
Speaking with journalists at the event, King Osupa, said he was motivated to appreciate the Special Athletes because of their immense contribution to the growth of sports in the country, noting that giving back to the society is necessary for the good of the nation.
He promised his to sustain the support for the Special Sports Athletes as well as the less privileged and orphans in the country, which he said are all included in his pet project designed to assist the poor in the society.
"I'm excited to be identified with the special athletes. This programme shall be an annual event. It's a way of giving back to the society. Inviting the disabled, orphans and the less privileged persons is a way of saying thanks to God.
"We must also remember that most times these people do Nigeria proud even where the able bodied athletes have failed. Disability does not mean that person is totally useless; rather there is ability in disability. So I urge other well-meaning Nigerians to also appreciate them," he said.
