The 36 state governors, local government chairmen and stakeholders in the Primary Health Care sector across the country have been charged to support the ongoing revitalisation of Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC) by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
The newly-appointed Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib, made the appeal while addressing staff of the Agency, in Abuja yesterday.
While describing the PHC revitalisation as the best thing that has happened to Nigeria’s health sector in recent years, Dr Faisal called on stakeholders in the sector to make the best of the opportunity to ensure effective and efficient primary healthcare delivery to Nigerians, particularly the poor in the rural areas.
He, therefore, appealed to staff of the agency to imbibe positive change of attitude in favour of transparency, patriotism and corrupt – free culture, capable of restoring Nigerians’ confidence in the leadership of the nation’s Primary healthcare sub-sector.
It would be recalled that President Buhari announced the appointment of Dr Shuaib as the new Executive Director of NPHCDA on Wednesday January 11, 2017.
