For being a trail-blazing business mogul with a vision that society must also benefit from his entrepreneurial energy; for being an inspirational leader and mentor who takes interest in grooming future entrepreneurs and for his philanthropic impact in his community, state, region and country, Sir (Chief) Daniel N. Chukwudozie is The AUTHORITY Icon
Something of a business enigma, he navigates with three consistent principles with which he has achieved outstanding success as well made considerable impact in philanthropy. These are - humility, honesty and hard work. Meet Sir (Chief) Daniel N. Chukwudozie, founding Chairman Dozzy Group of Companies.
Dozzy Group is an indigenous conglomerate birthed by the vision of Sir Chukwudozie who went into business in 1982 as a trader. The trade metamorphosed into a company under the name of Dozzy Nigeria Limited – dealing in belt and general goods imported from Europe and Asia.
Along the line, Sir Chukwudozie who hails from Okija, Anambra State, established Dozzy Oil and Gas Limited and subsidiaries: Speciality Oil Company Nigeria Limited, Dozzy Plastic Industries Limited, DozzyGuttroff Gas Limited, Lubricant Manufacturing Oxygen/Industrial Gas Production, Industrial automotive household as well as high precision plastic products, manufacturing wigs/hair attachments, artificial human hair and oil and gas supply and distribution.
Having a clear vision to build his business empire, Sir Chukwudozie was enthusiastic from the onset. Noting that a tree cannot make a forest, he eventually built up a workforce of over 2000. He has also demonstrated notable cordial relationship with staff and regulatory bodies, customers and suppliers. According to him, ”We are not the loud type and except for the serious operators in the down-stream sector of the petroleum industry, many Nigerians may not even know that we are a force to reckon with in the marketing and distribution of petroleum products and lubricants.”
In further clarification, he observed that. “It takes a serious and patriotic group in the present circumstances to build a petroleum product storage depot that is capable of handling 120million liters of assorted petroleum products at once. We are happy the facility which we built in Calabar has helped to address the scarcity and the attendant high prices of petroleum products in most of the South-South, South-East and parts of Northern Nigeria.”
Sharing more insight into his philosophy of life he revealed that “Leadership mentoring culture, suitable team, unique and reliable product and service delivery channels, conformity of product and service with international and national standards and policy of giving back to the host communities and the society result in business success as well as impacts society.”
Significantly, the federal government has given approval for the Dozzy Group to build a private jetty for oil depot in Calabar which will foster discharge of larger parcels of petroleum products. This multibillion naira project which is half way completed will result in significant cost saving and the elimination or drastic reduction in vessel demurrage on jetties.
He was recently honoured by the grassroots newspaper publishers as the industrialist of the year, have recorded many awards to his name. He was voted the most respected Nigerian C.E.O 2010 by This Day Newspaper, Award of Excellence by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council amongst others.
The Okija born industrialist is a devout Christian married to Engr. Ada Chukwudozie with children. He derived pleasure in putting smiles on the faces of the less privilege in the society.
