The speculation of a possible rift between the management of the Zulu Africa Film Academy Awards (ZAFAA) and Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), has been denied by the management of the foremost entertainment organization in a recent telephone conversation with the CEO of Nollywood Entertainment Limited, Prince Sam Anwuzia. He made it categorically clear that their partnership with the station that prides itself as the largest network in Africa was still intact and even growing stronger. He attributed such insinuations to the handiwork of those who would rather not see Zafaa take its pride of place in the scheme of things in the continents entertainment space. He further informed that both parties (Zafaa & NTA), were very comfortable with the level of progress Zafaa had been able to attain within the period of operation, while appreciating the determination of the team to drive the brand to a higher pedestal.
In his words, when confronted on the news of a split with NTA, “My brother, nothing can be farther from the truth, I wonder the people that are concocting this nonsense, I can tell you authoritatively that me and my team were at national headquarters of NTA, just a week before I returned to the UK, and all we discussed was how to make a glorious outing with Zafaa 2017. The management of Zafaa are still comfortable with what we are getting from our deal with NTA, why would we change a winning team. I must reveal to you that after the meeting, the NTA team agreed to have a magazine program on behalf of Zafaa, this is expected to birth in the second quarter of the New Year and run through the year on national television. We are also coming up with the monthly Nollywood Road Show, which is expected to move across the several states of Nigeria and some notable African countries, with Anambra State leading the way in February. My brother, Zafaa 2017 is going to be the bomb, that is why we brought it home from the UK at the instance of some of our sponsors. We ae not leaving any stone unturned, I promise you.”
