The people of Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council are overwhelmed with joy over the construction of a bridge at the Zuba Fruit Market.
The project being undertaken by Gwagwalada Area Council has attracted a large crowd of traders who expressed joy and gratitude for the project.
The traders spoken with said the market road has been a major problem for traders who ply the road. They said transportation of goods along the road has been tedious due to the lack of bridge.
In an exclusive interview with one of the traders who simply identified herself as Mrs. Yinka, she explained that the construction of the road will certainly bring an end to the problems of transporting goods in and out of the market.
According to her, ‘‘the market road construction is a reason for us to smile again. There is joy in my heart as the road had always caused problem for us, especially, during the raining season.” She said consumers find it hard to access the market to buy their goods.
On why prices of goods in the market are high, Mrs. Yinka stated; “as you can see the price of fuel is high, where buy our products and bring to the market is far and motorists’ charges are very high.” She continued, “you can imagine, where we normally pay N400 to bring our goods to the market before is now N600 this is added to our selling price which eventually makes the price of goods in the market high’’.
She appealed to the government of President Buhari to do something about the economy in order to help the masses.
