The Chairman of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi who is also the Chief Medical Superintendent of Nnewi Diocesan Hospital, Anglican Diocese of Nnewi, Dr. Douglas Nkemdilim, has emerged the new president of Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) zone C.
Dr Nkemdilim in his acceptance speech promised to move the association forward in the next six years, noting that the association in the next few months of his reign would witness tremendous and positive changes.
The new president who is also the Anambra state chairman of CHAN said that he will employ a pragmatic style of leadership in his new position to effect the much needed positive changes.
He noted that the state government distributed some medical equipment and drug to CHAN through his office and that 40 percent of the people of the state seek medical attention in mission hospitals.
Dr Nkedilim debunked the claims in some quarters that the cost of medical services are more expensive in mission hospitals than others, noting that services in mission hospitals are relatively cheaper with quality services.
He urged Nigerians to always make budgetary allocations for their health needs in case of any eventuality.
