Don charges new UNIZIK students leaders on school's reputation

The Dean, Students’ Affairs, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof Stan Udedi, has advised the newly-elected Students’ Union Government officials of the university to maintain the good name and reputa­tion of the institution in all their dealings.
He made this known during the leadership training and inauguration ceremony of the SUG of­ficials.
Prof Udedi said the es­sence of the training was to enlighten them on how to produce functional, dedi­cated, focused and vibrant students’ union govern­ment in UNIZIK.
He added that the training will also enable the students to be fully armed for the task ahead. He expressed hope that the new executive mem­bers will propel the image of UNIZIK to an enviable height.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof J. E Ahaneku, con­gratulated the newly elected SUG and advised them to emulate Zik of Af­rica whom the university is named after as their role model so as to enable them attain leadership by excel­lence.
The Vice-Chancellor, who spoke on visionary leadership, encouraged them to set targets for themselves, be focused and determined so as to suc­ceed as good leaders. He reiterated that their humil­ity, honesty, respect, and endurance will be tested.
Prof Ahaneku acquaint­ed them that they are pri­marily here to realise their ambition and carrier for better citizens in life.
He also promised them of his maximum support for the smooth running of their government.
