The Department of Climate Change, Federal Ministry of Environment and the World Bank is hosting series of workshops on ‘Accelerating Climate-Resilient and Low-Carbon Development’ for Parliamentarians, States, MDAs and the Private Sector.
The workshops will hold in Abeokuta, Kaduna and Abuja.
A document from the Federal Ministry of Environment said the workshop will center on knowledge delivery, experience sharing and call to action.
The workshops are part of the government’s action on Climate Change, which remains top of the administration agenda, as demonstrated in the signing of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and participation at the UN Climate Change Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco last year.
“The workshop will enable knowledge dissemination and stakeholders’ role in implementing sectoral and multi-sectoral climate actions towards accelerating climate-resilient and low-carbon development across Nigeria”
The Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed is expected to declare the workshops open.
Mohammed said that the Federal Government remains committed to empowering people, taking climate action and protecting the environment.
