Hoodlums invade police station in Suleja

Two officers were recently injured when hoodlums invaded a police station to free their colleague who was in police custody in Suleja Club police out station.

An eye witness said the hoodlums numbering over 20 were armed with cutlasses, daggers, axes and sticks when they stormed the police station chanting that a suspect be released to them else they pull down the station.

He noted that some policemen who were on duty stayed to defend people at the police station before they were repelled by other hoodlums who came after them by attacking them to release their detained colleague.

The hoodlums allegedly made away with the suspect after smashing and destroying windows, furniture used on the counter and cut the cell chain used for padlock.

Confirming the arrest of the suspects, a senior police officer who does not want his name in print said the suspects were arrested at with the help of the military in the area.

Also confirming the incident, the DPO in charge of ‘B’ Division, CSP Agbani Patrick Abayomi said the two suspects arrested in connection with the attack have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Minna to reap the fruit of their deeds.
