The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Umuahia branch, has honoured the Pro-Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu (GUU), Chief Gregory Ikechukwu Charles Ibe, with the award of “excellence in entrepreneurship and supports for engineering excellence.”
Speaking during the award presentation ceremony recently, the NSE Umuahia branch Chairman, Engr. Victor Ejikeme Ihediwa listed other notable achievements which attracted the society to give Chief Ibe the award to include his pragmatic teaching of management and entrepreneurship courses in various universities and his ingenuity to found a number of enterprises.
His words: “NSE appreciates the giant strides of Chief Ibe to establish this magnificent and enviable state-of-the art private university in Abia State, which for us is a dream, come true. It is our delight to say that this university is a positive response to our quest for a private or state owned university in Abia that offers engineering education to cater for Abia youths’ catchment area problem.
“Besides, the competent engineering workforce required for Abia State and national development, can only be produced in this type of facility, hence we pledge our unalloyed support to the noble ideals of this institution.”
Engr. Ihediwa expressed the readiness of the NSE to partner with the institution, which according to him, “is an entrepreneurial training institution with well structured programmes aimed at bringing out the best from students.”
