NTDC endorses tourism book for secondary school curriculum

The Nigerian Tourism Development Corpo­ration (NTDC) has taken a further step to edu­cate the Nigerian youths on tourism development as it has endorsed a tourism book for secondary school curric­ulum.
The book titled “Rede­fining Tourism in Nigeria: Real Issues and Challenges “ which is written by Ogbonna­ya Okonkwo and Nwankwo Raphael , would be launched on 14th February, 2017.
Speaking in Abuja on the book launch, the Acting Director-General, NTDC, Mrs Mariel Rae-Omoh em­phasized the importance of promoting youth tourism through education.
Rae-Omoh said the book was written in accordance with appropriate curriculum adding “ it promised to be of great value in the training of secondary school students in­terested in tourism.
She said that the book which will be targeted at youth empowerment in the grass­roots, will also be distributed to stakeholders, schools , li­braries, among others.
According to her, the cor­poration has commenced work with private sector stakeholders towards the development of tourist sites in Nigeria , using the Fed­eral Capital Territory as a launching pad.
