The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has taken a further step to educate the Nigerian youths on tourism development as it has endorsed a tourism book for secondary school curriculum.
The book titled “Redefining Tourism in Nigeria: Real Issues and Challenges “ which is written by Ogbonnaya Okonkwo and Nwankwo Raphael , would be launched on 14th February, 2017.
Speaking in Abuja on the book launch, the Acting Director-General, NTDC, Mrs Mariel Rae-Omoh emphasized the importance of promoting youth tourism through education.
Rae-Omoh said the book was written in accordance with appropriate curriculum adding “ it promised to be of great value in the training of secondary school students interested in tourism.
She said that the book which will be targeted at youth empowerment in the grassroots, will also be distributed to stakeholders, schools , libraries, among others.
According to her, the corporation has commenced work with private sector stakeholders towards the development of tourist sites in Nigeria , using the Federal Capital Territory as a launching pad.
