St. Gregory's College marks 89 years of academic excellence

The Administrator of St. Gregory’s College, Lagos, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ayeni, has attributed the growth of the college to the grace of God, cooperation of the management team, old boys association and teachers.
Speaking at the 89th Founder’s Day of the college, Ayeni disclosed that the success story is simply dependent on the strict adherence to the blueprint mapped out for the school, which he added they follow faithfully.
While admitting that the college is not perfect, Ayeni stated that the institution has the most essential elements that are needed in a secondary school and even beyond.
“Some people come here and say it looks like a university but for us, we are not there yet; we are still moving. We virtually have all that we need. Our new science complex is coming up, but like Oliver Twist, we are still asking God for more,”he said.
He advised the old boys to keep up the good spirit and faith for the college that they love so much, saying: “This is something we are all proud of. When we see them, it encourages us to continue.
“We are marking the anniversary in a simple way now and by next year, we are going to be 90. We are thanking God that the college is 89 years, has been running, standing and waxing stronger.”
On his part, the President of the Old Boys Association, Dr. John Abebe, said one of the things that have always driven the old boys is the spirit of togetherness and brotherly love that made them always want to give back to their alma mater.
