Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Plateau State University, Bokkos, Prof. Attahiru Jega, has pledged that the council and management would work hard to make the university one of the best in Nigeria.
Jega made the pledge on Thursday in Bokkos at the Founders’ Day celebration of the university.
“We will continue to do our best in compliance with the laws of the university and the laws of the land to make the university one of the best in the country in a few years’ time,” he said.
Jega said he almost rejected the opportunity to serve as the chairman of the governing council when he was invited by Governor Simon Lalong.
He said that the governor had supported and inspired him within the short period he had been the chairman of the Governing Council.
Jega expressed satisfaction that much had happened in the university in terms of physical development, staff training, among others.
