The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) says the agency is determined to encourage young inventors through the commercialisation of their inventions.
The Director, Department of Technology Innovation and Commercialisation of NOTAP, made this known in an interview at the 2nd edition of the Annual National Students Vocational Skills Competition in Abuja.
“In the case of these students, NOTAP is ready to partner with the schools to help improve on the inventions of the youths by linking them up with the right kind of partnership,’’ he said.
According to him, NOTAP as an agency of government has the mandate to promote locally generated technologies and encourage development of creative and inventive skills among Nigerian scientists, inventors and innovators, Including the youths.
“NOTAP as an agency under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, we provide support and technological advisory services for the promotion of science and technology and innovation in the country.
“We do this by going round the country covering exhibitions, particularly technology related ones, if we are able to find locally developed technologies, we try to give them the necessary assistance”. (NAN)
