The president of Anambra State Towns People Association (ASTPA), Abuja, Engr Ikechukwu Iwenofu has hailed Governor Willy Obiano for his performance as it affects security in Anambra state.
ASTPA has last Sunday organised a thanksgiving at the Catholic Pro-Cathedral in Garki, Area 3, Abuja.
The president gave the commendation at a reception organised by the Association after the thanksgiving. He said that he observed that initially, Onitsha and other parts of the state were no-go-areas, both day and night, but noted with happiness that with Obiano at the helm of affairs in the state, the problem posed by insecurity has become a thing of the past.
Iwenofu also spoke at length of other areas he believed that the governor excelled, even as he urged all the citizens to come out enmasse to ensure that Obiano is returned to office in the next governorship election in the state. Earlier in his remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Charles Mbanefo spoke at length on the performance of the governor and urged him to keep the tempo.
In response, the governor commended the Association’s members for promoting unity among themselves in FCT as well as coming out enmasse to thank God for the innumerable things He has been doing for humanity. He spoke on his performance in the area of agriculture for food security and for export.
Speaking on the oncoming governorship election in the state, he advised those who registered in other states not to take the risk of casting their votes with such cards in Anambra. For solution, he informed that such people to go to the appropriate authorities transfer their voters’ registration to the state.
He gave N2 million to the Association as a support from his government, just as he spoke on the need for his reelection to enable him finish what he has at hand.
