CBN Gov, 3 Ministers, Innoson motors win Verbatim Awards

The Governor of Cen­tral Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele ,Three Ministers and the Chairman , Innoson Group, Chief Innoson Chukwuma are among eminent persons and institutions to be hon­oured at the 5th anniver­sary and annual leadership awards program of Verba­tim News Magazine sched­uled for Thursday, April 6 at Sheraton hotel in Abuja.
The minister of Informa­tion and Culture,Lai Mo­hammed, minister of Sci­ence and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu and their Niger Delta Affairs col­league, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani are the ministers that will be so honoured at the award ceremony.
Other personalities lined up for the award at what the organisers described as his­toric ceremony to be chaired by Dr. Jerry Ugokwe, in­clude Chairman of the Nige­rian Law Reform Commis­sion, Barrister Kefas Magaji, former Clerk of the National Assembly, Dr.Salisu Maika­suwa, former Governor of Niger state, Dr Babangida Aliyu and four Senators, Abu Ibrahim from Katsina, Andy Uba from Anambra, Binta Masi from Adamawa and Aliyu Magatakarda Wa­makko from Sokoto state.
In a press statement signed by the Editor-in-Chief of Verbatim,Tobs Ag­baegbu, further stated that the award winners, also in­cluding some heads of fed­eral government agencies, private sector operators and heads of diplomatic missions in Nigeria will be decorated at an evening of investiture ceremony which will be pre­ceded with a public lecture titled ‘Media, Democracy and National Development’, and the unveiling of a sister publication, called Verbatim Profiles, which will strictly focus on the positive side of people and institutions.
The statement further explained that the Abuja based investigative news magazine set up five years ago by a group of editors and managers from News­watch also hinted of plans to institute an endowment fund, in memory of Onuk­aba Adinoyi Ojo, former Managing Director of Daily Times Newspaper who died recently after attending the former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Library launch program in Ogun State.
