A member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s Zonal Youth Leader for the South East zone, Sir Paul Chukwuka Chukwuma, has advised wealthy Nigerians to emulate Dr Obinna Uzo by supporting youth-oriented programmes.
Chukwuma spoke with media men at the weekend during the 54th birthday celebration of Uzo at the Youth Village in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
He prayed for God’s grace and protection on the celebrant, whom he referred to as “my good brother” and appealed to Uzo to support him in his quest to serve Ndi Anambra as their governor.
To former governor Peter Obi, who was also at the event, Chukwuma described as a phenomenon in government who will be remembered in Anambra and beyond for his empirically verifiable achievements in the state including but not limited to his exercise of political will which led to the emergence of the first governor of Anambra North extraction.
Chukwuma, an APC governorship aspirant in Anambra State also solicited for prayers and support of well-meaning Ndi Anambra to realise his ambition.
On his political campaign, Chukwuma said that he would not discuss individuals but policies of government vis-a-vis the changes he intends to bring into governance in the state.
He noted that former governor of Anambra State and APC leader in the state, Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige, who is also the minister of Labour and Employment, had a solid foundation for Anambra’s development.
According to him, Ngige ended the era of godfatherism in Anambra politics and provided infrastructure, especially road networks in the state.
