Igbo presidency possible after Buhari's 8 years - Adighije

Igbo presidency possible after Buhari's 8 years - Adighije

As politicians from the South East continue to react to the call for a president from the Igbo extraction ahead of the 2019 political calculations, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Chris Adighije has stated that the APC remains the quickest vessel for the South East to actualise their quest for Igbo presidency.
Adighije, however, stated that the dream of Igbo presidency can only be actualised after eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, adding that the President should be given the opportunity to complete his task of re branding Nigeria by running for another four-year term in 2019.
According to him, no individual or geo-political zone should be wishing President Buhari death because he wants to become President.
He said, “I believe that God helping us, President Buhari would serve out his eight years. His life is in the hands of God. I cannot be wishing Buhari to die because an Igbo man wants to be President. I believe that Buhari would serve out his eight years and if anything was to the contrary, we will cross the bridge when we get there.”
However, some Igbo politicians and also the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo are of the opinion that the South East geo-political zone should be giving a chance in the major political parties in 2019 to contest the Presidency.
On why the Igbo politicians are joining APC, Adighije said, “When you look at the political analysis, for me the APC remains the shortest way possible for the Presidency to go to the South East by calculation.
