Kwankwassiyya Foundation raises N260m in Kano

Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s Kwankwassiyya Development Foundation (KDF) received a boost in Kano at the weekend as friends and political associates of the former governor supported it with over N260 million.
Speaking during an elaborate fund-raising ceremony, the Chief Launcher of the event who dropped N55 million into the coffers of the Foundation, Arc Aminu Dabo, called on well-meaning Nigerians to contribute to the development of the Foundation which he said was a creation designed to give succour to the needy and less privileged in the society.
Dabo who was a former Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning in the first tenure of Kwankwaso as Governor of Kano State added that he personally donated N30 million, while his friends donated N25 million as their widows’ mite to support the charity works of the Foundation.
“We are making this donation to support the empowerment and skill acquisition programmes our mentor has embarked on. It is no longer news that Sen Kwankwaso is widely accepted in the country and has continued to touch lives positively across Nigerians irrespective of religious and ethnic affiliations.”
He further stated that the Foundation is a non-political organisation, designed to help the common people and make them feel the good impacts of the society by being self-reliant and economically empowered.
Speaking during the event, Chairman of the Foundation fund-raising committee, Hon Nuhu Danburam who is also representing Kano Municipal at the House of Representatives, said the Foundation has continued to support Nigerians.
