The Vice Chancellor (VC) of Rhema University, Aba, Abia State, Prof. Ogbonnaya Onwudike says as Christian institution of higher learning, the school will not tolerate social vices such as drug addiction, cultism, indecent dressing, examination malpractice, gambling, premarital sexual activities, among others.
Prof. Onwudike, who made this know during the institution’s seventh matriculation, emphasised the need for students to exhibit excellence in academic activities, discipline, fear of God as well as spiritual development in line with the institution’s motto of equipping humanity.
The VC disclosed that all programmes of the university are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), even as he stated that the institution is setting up its facilities for courses like Anatomy, Physiology and Nursing as a prelude to full medical programmes.
His words, “This is a prelude to our starting the full medical programme. We have also set up a Continuing Education programme under which we plan to run the Rhema University/Chattered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria linkage degree programme and other degree programmes in our accredited courses for mature students.”
49 students from the colleges of basic and applied science as well as that of management and social sciences were matriculated while highpoint of the occasion include the presentation of awards of excellence to 11 undergraduates of the institution.
