Social vices have no place in Rhema varsity, says VC

The Vice Chancel­lor (VC) of Rhema University, Aba, Abia State, Prof. Ogbonnaya Onwudike says as Chris­tian institution of higher learning, the school will not tolerate social vices such as drug addiction, cultism, in­decent dressing, examina­tion malpractice, gambling, premarital sexual activities, among others.
Prof. Onwudike, who made this know during the institution’s seventh ma­triculation, emphasised the need for students to exhibit excellence in academic ac­tivities, discipline, fear of God as well as spiritual de­velopment in line with the institution’s motto of equip­ping humanity.
The VC disclosed that all programmes of the uni­versity are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), even as he stated that the institu­tion is setting up its facilities for courses like Anatomy, Physiology and Nursing as a prelude to full medical programmes.
His words, “This is a pre­lude to our starting the full medical programme. We have also set up a Continu­ing Education programme under which we plan to run the Rhema University/Chattered Institute of Bank­ers of Nigeria linkage de­gree programme and other degree programmes in our accredited courses for ma­ture students.”
49 students from the col­leges of basic and applied science as well as that of management and social sciences were matriculated while highpoint of the oc­casion include the presenta­tion of awards of excellence to 11 undergraduates of the institution.
