Society for Christian Welfare holds prayer for Nigeria

A faith-based organisation, Society for Christian Welfare alongside leaders of different Christian denominations yesterday in Abuja held a one-day prayer session to seek God’s intervention in the political and economic situation of the country.
The Executive Director of the organisation, Pastor Michael Ekanem, said the event was to congregate Christian leaders across the country together essentially to seek the face of God as a remedy to the current economic tragedy facing the country.
He added that the gathering was equally to thank God for the successful and safe trip of its members that travelled to the Holy Land of Israel through the assistance and sponsorship of the organisation.
Leading the prayer session, Bishop Ajekson Kayode of Pentecostal Flame of Christ Dominion Church, called for God’s grace, mercy and wisdom upon the country’s political leaders for them to lead the country out of the current economic woes.
The participants from across the country, numbering over a thousand prayed for the unity of Christian bodies and God’s protection upon Christian in the face of what they described as seeming persecution and killing of Christians especially in the Northern part of the country.
Certificates and Awards were given to some Christians who, during their stay in Jerusalem, showed exemplary character as they were formally decorated with the official title of Jerusalem Pilgrims (JP).
