Zenith staff wins Miss Insurance Pageant

A staff of Zenith Insurance General Limited, Miss Ezekiel Precious, has emerged winner of the 2017 Miss Insurance Beauty Pageant.

Miss Ezekiel was announced winner on Friday at the 2017 Miss Insurance Beauty Pageant, organised by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) in Lagos, having defeated eight other contestants and she went home with a Kia Cerato.

The second position was won by Miss Olaniran Adesola Shalom of Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc. She went home with complete 45 inch colour television with a home theatre and the third prize a deep Freezer

The third position went to Miss Judith Nduanusi of Zenith Life Insurance Limited. She went home with a deep freezer.

President, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), Lady Isioma Chukwuma, while setting an agenda for the new Queen said: “We expect her to carry herself in a dignify manner, projecting the image of the industry. She is also expected to have a pet project which we expect would promote insurance consciousness amongst the populists.

“We leave it up to them to have a pet project, but we encourage continuity so that what a queen starts do not terminate at the end of her tenure. When a new queen emerged, we encouraged her to start where her predecessor stopped. The idea is a way of encouraging them to reach out to the public.

“She is the ambassador of the insurance industry, she represents the industry whenever there is an event and that is why we are hammering on not just beauty but brain. She is expected to be knowledgeable about insurance and insurance affairs.”

She noted that lack of adequate publicity would have led to why people feel the impact of the beauty pageant is not felt, adding that the institute has been working assiduously to see that the queens execute their pet projects.

Lady Isioma posited that lack of courage from members of insurance companies would have resulted to the level of participation in the contest.

She identified sponsorship as one of the challenges the institute faced in organising the contest, adding that there was challenge of fund, but with help from some companies the challenge was surmounted.
