Budding Abuja-based Chartered accountant cum gospel singer, Solomon Igbayue, over the weekend gathered family, friends, fans and well-wishers for the launch of his sophomore album, titled Fruit of My Lips. The event space, which had a raised platform, serving as the stage, was packed full, as the crowd present praised and danced to the glory of God.
Hosted by Abuja Armed Forces Radio OAP, Bob Genesis, the event had in attendance special guest artiste, Solomon Lange, who came to show support to fellow Solomon.
Speaking on why he is on his career path and what inspired the album, he stated: “I’m more of a composer and my songs are ministerial in nature. I use this to reach out to those I cannot reach physically, because I have a passion for evangelism. My songs are more of messages”.
“God has mandated us to offer sacrifices of praise and it is pleasing onto him. If you look at Hebrews 13:15, it talks about the fruit of our lips; praises. When I ask myself, what can I offer unto God, I’m left with the fruit of my lips. Every collection on the album is the fruit of my lips.”
The floor was opened with performances from other gospel artistes, who also featured in the album, such as, Jonathan Achi, Chris Adole, etc.
In 2014, Solomon Igbayue had his debut album with the title, Tiv Praise which was targeted at the Tiv race. It was used to minister and reach out to as many Tiv people as possible.
