Nnewi North Local Government Council of Anambra State has directed all commercial vehicles operators who load along roadsides in the industrial town to move into government approved parks.
The commercial vehicles’ owners that ply Nnewi-Ozubulu-Okija-Ihiala route have been directed to move into Ezeagu Parks 1 and 11, those for Nnewi-Utuh-Ekwulumili-Unubi and Osumenyi would move to Okwu-Ulasi without further delay; Nnewi-Ichi-Oba-Onisha commuters are to move to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Park while Nnewi-Nnobi-Awkaetiti-Isuofia-Ekwulobia vehicles are mandated to load at Nnewi North Local Government Mass Transit Park.
The Nnewi North Local Government Area Transition Committee Chairman, Rt Hon Chukwudi Orizu handed down the directive Thursday when he moved around major loading spots in the town with some council officials and security agents to sensitise commercial drivers of his intention.
He warned that defaulters would be made to face the full weight of the law, noting that the council expected 100 per cent compliance for the good of all and sundry.
