The Anambra Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will deploy no fewer than 1,500 marshals to ensure effective patrol in the state during Easter celebration.
The Sector Commander, Mr Sunday Ajayi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Awka that both officers of the regular marshal and the Special Marshals would be deployed.
“We are going to have over 1,500 hands helping us, and that includes regular and special marshals. And we are hoping to enjoy the support of other agencies,’’ he said.
Ajayi said the command would also have expanded patrol, which includes working at night, holding mobile courts and intensifying advocacy and enforcement.
He said the command was considering the increased traffic at night and rush during the day, and had strategised to ensure sanity on the roads in the state.
According to the sector commander, there shall be decongestion activities to clear the road of broken-down and damaged vehicles causing obstruction on the highways.
“Our expectation this Easter is to have a stress-free traffic in Anambra and to achieve that, we shall mobilise all that we have, personnel, logistics wise and the stakeholders too.
