As part of efforts to educate Telecom consumers on their rights to quality of services, the Nigerian Communications Commission, (NCC), has called on Telecom subscribers to stop unsolicited text messages by sending “STOP” to “2442” code.
A statement by the commission’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Tony Ojobo stated that the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbata is not leaving any stone unturned towards ensuring the year of the consumer focuses on improving the quality of service; protecting and educating the consumer.
Danbatta also said that consumers should access the customer toll free line by dialing 622 to register their complaints if they do not get such complaints addressed by the Network operator.
According to him, NCC intends to increase the awareness and activation level of the two initiatives.
The statement further stated that the commission is implementing measures to reduce Dropped Call Rate (DCR) to meet its benchmark of less than one percent and that it will closely monitor, track and review the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of operators by Network Integrity.
