Rural healthcare: Nasarawa PHC agency honours 3 LG chairmen

The Nasarawa State Pri­mary Health Care De­velopment Agency (NSPHCDA) has honoured three local government chair­men for promoting primary health care programs in ru­ral communities in their lo­cal government areas.
The award ceremony took place at the conference hall of the Ministry of Local Govern­ment and Chieftaincy Affairs, in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
According to the NSPHC­DA, the recipients of the awards have distinguished themselves as administrators who are willing and ready to improve the health status of residents of rural communi­ties.
While giving the award to the beneficiaries, represen­tative of the NSPHCDA, Dr Abdullahi Adis, charged oth­er local government admin­istrators to emulate the three awardees.
He stressed that the NPH­DCA was ready to support and partner with local gov­ernments to improve the health of the rural dwell­ers through the provision of affordable and accessible healthcare services
The recipients in their sep­arate remarks, jointly dedicat­ed the awards to the Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the NPHCDA and the people of the state for supporting the programs of the current administration, especially in the provision of health care services.
Speaking with The AU­THORITY, the chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Gov­ernment, Mr Success Ako­lo, commended the Nasar­awa State governor for his people-oriented polices and pledged to continue to work in line with the state govern­ment policies on rural devel­opment.
According to him, Nasar­awa state under the current government has made tre­mendous strides in rural de­velopment, especially in its ef­forts at improving the health of rural dwellers.
On her part, Chairperson of Obi Local Government Area, Hajiya Sa’adatu Yahaya, commended the governor for giving them the opportunity to contribute their quarter in the development of the state.
She vow to continue to work tirelessly to ensure that she provides basic healthcare services to the rural dwellers in her local government.
