FRSC wants motorists to accept speed limiting device

The Federal Road Safety Commission has called on motorists to accept the speed limiting device and ensure discipline while plying routes.

The Unit Commander in-charge of Lokogoma area, Mr. Obed Shekarau stated this while on advocacy campaign to motor parks, markets and churches in Abuja to educate members of the public on the importance of speed limiting device.

He said the FRSC was putting on measures to enhance public enlightenment campaign in order to control traffic in the area.

Shekarau pointed out that the corps used to embark on periodic enlightenment on tyre violation, over loading and route violations, just as he enjoined ‘okada’ riders to cultivate the habit of using safety helmets to guide against injuries to the head in the event of accident.

The Unit Commander called on motorists to get a copy of a High Way Code and abide by its teachings just as he tasked drivers on the need to checking their vehicles on daily basis to ensure that wipers, brakes, tyres, signals and light were functioning, especially during the rainy season.
