The Niger State Government has indicated interest to work with the United States of America on how to efficiently and effectively tackle security challenges as well as maximise its potentials in agriculture in the state.
Receiving the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Stuart Symington, at Government House, Minna, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello said the state was also ready to partner with America in the areas of business, commerce and agriculture.
According to him, the area of focus would be on Shea butter which ironically have not been developed over the years because of government inability to invest in the sector.
The governor disclosed that the state government would be sending a delegation to an agricultural conference in the US to meet and learn from producers of agric equipment and processing companies.
“A lot can be learnt from the conference, top agricultural financiers would be there and we may be fortunate to find companies to partner with”.
