The administration of Bwari Area Council has unfolded new agriculture programmes to boost farming in the area and FCT.
Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Water Resources, Makama Kawu, in an interview disclosed that the present council chairman had established farms as well as introduced different varieties of crops.
He said the farm, which is first if its kind since the creation of Bwari Area Council is located in Kawu community would enable the farmers know more about new farming techniques and create employment for others.
He assured the farmers of the council’s commitment to promoting better agric policies that would enhance increased harvest.
Kawu said the initiative was in line with the present administration diversification of the economy, aimed at encouraging the people to be self-satisfied, promising that plans were on going to distribute fertilizer to genuine farmers of the area.
