Police vow to check kidnapping on Abuja-Kaduna highway

The fight against kidnappers and other criminal elements along the Abuja- Kaduna Highway will, in the next few days, take a new dimension.

This is even as the rank and file cadre of the Nigeria Police Force deployed to the red spot have vowed to make all the needed sacrifices to ensure that kidnapping and other criminal activities along the highway become a thing of the past.

The vow, according to them, is due to the level of encouragement and support given to them by the IGP.

Speaking in an interview with The AUTHORITY, during a visit by the IGP to the over 600 Police Mobile Force currently deployed to the area to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities along the highway at the weekend, most of the officers said that they are encouraged with the fact that Idris has made himself easily accessible to all personnel of the Force irrespective of their ranks.

Responding to questions from The AUTHORITY, a police officer by the name Sergeant Dauda, in one of the camps, applauded the IGP for personally visiting and interacting with them to know their well-being.

The visit of the IGP to the area of operation, according to him, has greatly boosted their morale to discharge their duties with diligence and commitment.

Also speaking, a Cpl, Yusuf Musa, noted that the invaluable gesture of the IGP Idris would surely spur them to be more diligent, committed and productive.

He reiterated that the disposition and gesture of the IGP has boosted their morale to do everything humanly possible to arrest those criminals terrorising innocent and law-abiding citizens plying the highway.
