Sultan converts 3 traditionalists into Islam

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III on Saturday converted three traditional religious worshipers at Miya village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State into Islam.

The three converts renounced their former religion when the Sultan paid a visit to the village to inspect a school being constructed by him for the people of the area which was hitherto lacking shortly after he declared open the 2017 national symposium of the Da’wah Coordinating Council of Nigeria (DCCN) held in Bauchi

He emphasised the need for the Da’wah Council to ensure that Nigerian Muslims were understood rather than just being tolerated by the adherents of other religions in the country.

This is just as he called on all Nigerians to come together, irrespective of their different affiliations to resolve national issues that have in recent times become matters of national discourse, noting that all disagreements could only be resolved through dialogues and not violence or confrontations.

The Muslims leader warned politicians to stop playing politics with people’s lives and take proactive measures to ensure that peace reigns in all parts of the country.

While condemning all forms of violence and crimes emanating from different sections of the society, the Sultan emphasised that the federal government must probe the recent crisis in Mambilla, Taraba State that claimed many lives.

He also urged the federal government to handle the controversy surrounding the issue of teaching religious subjects in secondary schools with caution and avoid heating up the polity unnecessarily.

The Sultan tasked those engaged in Da’wah to propagate Islam in the best manner and urged all Muslims to be good ambassadors of the religion by exhibiting good conduct always as taught by the religion.
