 CHAN forces NPFL time table shift

The home-based Eagles en­gagement in CHAN quali­fiers have forced the League Management Company (LMC) to adjust the time table of the NPFL matches, leading to extension of the close of the 20116/2017 season

The NPFL season will now end on September 9, as against the earlier date of September 3, due to 2018 World Cup and CHAN qualifiers, officials have disclosed.

The Super Eagles will battle Cameroon on September 1and 4 in World Cup qualifiers, while the country’s home-based team are engaged in a final CHAN 2018 playoff with Benin.

The first leg of the CHAN play­off is on Sunday in Cotonou with the return leg in Kano on August 19.

As a result of these interna­tional engagements, the League Management Company (LMC) has now adjusted the fixtures as follows –

Matchday 35 will now be played on August 20 and Match­day 36 will hold on August 27. SimilarlyMatchday37 will now be played on Sept. 3 while Matchday 38 will hold on Sept. 9
