A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in FCT, James Chukwu has demanded for a probe of the six area council chairmen by the FCT minister, Mohammed Bello.
He said infrastructure development across communities was at zero level, which according to him, the monthly allocations that go to councils should be properly accounted for.
Chukwu, who is also the Vice Chairman of APGA in Abuja South federal constituency said FCT as the nation’s capital should be provided with all the necessary facilities.
He regretted that the situation in communities across the area councils was not encouraging.
“FCT is where the seat of power is, so everything should be in place, especially across the councils,” Chukwu emphasised.
He told The AUTHORITY in Abuja that setting up a committee that would checkmate the activities of chairmen on how they use their allocations would help address the underdevelopment.
The APGA chieftain blamed the poor infrastructure in FCT on misappropriation of available resources meant for development.
“The resources meant for execution of projects in the FCT communities should be channelled into projects that would improve the living standard of residents, than diverting the monies into privates.”
According to him, the minister should ensure that the change agenda of the present administration work in the Territory.
