The Federal Government has appointed Lady Azuka Azinge as the Acting Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
Azuka, was until her new appointment the Director, Registry Department of the Commission.
A statement made available to The AUTHORITY by CAC and signed by its Head, Public Affairs, Mr Godfrey Ike, stated that the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, who announced the appointment, said Azuka would continue to act in that capacity until a substantive Chief Executive Officer is appointed.
Lady Azuka Azinge, whose appointment took effect from 9th October, 2017,The AUTHORITY gathered is a graduate of the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG). She will take over from Barr. Bello Mahmud following the expiration of his two-term tenure of eight years as the Registrar-General of CAC.
Mahmud, who was first appointed in 2009 and re-appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan in October 2013, was able to introduce cutting-edge technology in company registration which ensure that companies can be registered within 24 hours.
It would be recalled that CAC was recently presented with International Organisation for Standardisation(ISO: 9011:2015) certificate, the third in a series received by the Commission from the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), as a result of its quality service in registration of businesses.
