Anambra State chairman of the Advanced Congress of Democrats, ACD and senatorial candidate of the party in Saturday’s Anambra Central re-run election, Hon Oby Okafor has condemned the stand of the leadership of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC Anambra state on the Independent National Electoral Commissionas slated re-run election this Saturday.
Hon Okafor was livid and blasts Anambra state chapter of IPAC for speaking with both mouths in the Saturday’s re-run election in the state.
IPAC, which is the umbrella body of all the political parties in Nigeria, recently, urged INEC to continue with plans to conduct the election on Saturday in Anambra Central while another faction, in a protest on Monday, urged INEC not to conduct the election but obey the federal high court judgment that ordered INEC to declare Dr. Obiora Okonkwo the rightful winner of the election.
Hon. Okafor in a chart with newsmen said that IPAC in Anambra state under the leadership of Prince Bartho Igwedibia is a disgrace to the noble organization as it lacks credibility and integrity.
Her words: “My opinion is that the Saturdayas election should hold so that Anambra Central can have representation like others.
“I am surprised that IPAC under Bartho Igwedibie is polarized and uncoordinated and speaks with both mouths. They lack integrity; they are fraud and bunch of liars.
“They said few days ago that the election should not hold and today they visited INEC, clamouring for the election to hold.
“The same IPAC said, during the November 18 governorship election that Obiano’s re-election be cancelled. They even blocked Obiano’s agent, Chief Victor Umeh from collecting result sheet and days after the election , they were congratulating Obiano for the victory. Have you seen that they are not trustworthy?
“A good leader should be straight forward. They are disgrace to what politics should be and I want National body to take note of that. Let them stop making IPAC appear cheap and weak and that is why I am asking them when shall Zambia be free” she queried.
