Police investigate Gandujiyya/Kwankwasiyya clash

Kano State Police Command on Monday launched full-scale investigations into allegations that the state Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas directed his supporters to attack members of the Kwankwasiyya group in a video tape.

Briefing journalists on the issue, the Commanda��s Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Musa Majia,A�A�said Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas was invited to the Command to explain his role in the whole saga, following a petition written by M.K. Umar&Co.

According to him, Abbas and representatives of the Kwankwasiyya group loyal to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso were asked to go and produceA�A�the alleged video tape for analysis.

Majia further hinted that the police also arrested two sons and a house boy of the state Commissioner for Special Duties over allegations that they attacked members of the Kwankwassiyya group at a wedding ceremonyA�A�in Chiranchi Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area, last weekend.

According to him, though they have been released on bail, investigations are still ongoing into the matter.

The AUTHORIY reports that a clash between loyalists of the Gandujiyya and Kwankwassiyya almost turned bloody as six people were reportedly injured.
