Woman petitions IGP over intimidation, threat to frustrate case in court

An Abuja-based civil servant, Ms. Elsie Imaikop has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, over an alleged plot by some senior police officers to frustrate a case of criminal trespass, assault, causing grievous hurt, criminal intimidation, causing mischief, defamation of character and disturbance of public peace against one Emmanuel Omattah of Shagari quarters, Dei-Dei, Abuja.
She alleged that the Emmanuel Omattah on the 6th of May 2016 came to her house and attacked her with cutlass and iron rod with intent to kill her.
“Luckily, I survived the attack but had my finger completely removed.
“The case was reported to Kubwa Police Division at 1000hrs of 06/05/2016.
“Emmanuel Omattah was subsequently charged before the Upper Area Court on the 12th of May 2016 with case file number EMMANUEL OMATTAH VS COMMISSIONER of POLICE CR/226/2016”
Furthermore, she alleged in the petition that the wife of the accused, Justina Enefu, a Supertindent of Police and J.S. Idachaba, the O.C. Legal have teamed up to frustrate the case which is before Judge Oriji of High Court 11 Apo, Abuja.
She alleged that Justina and Idachaba have withdrawn the case file from the Police Prosecutor with the intention of having the case quashed.
“Sir, my finger was cut off by the accused and I have been severally threatened by the accused person and his police cohorts.
“I appeal to you to use your good office to ensure this case with file no CR/601/2016 is not killed.
“I demand you intervene Sir for me to get justice,” Imaikpo appealed to the IGP.
