As part of effort towards building the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) operators, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) through the Business Entrepreneurship, Skills and Technology (BEST) centre has rolled out several programs to that effect.
A statement by ACCI on Wednesday said the unveiling of the programs at a partners and facilitators meeting at the secretariat in Abuja was done by the Chambera��s Vice President in charge of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Provost of the centre, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba.
Adesugba stressed that such trainings could not have come at a better time other than now when Nigeria is taking a leap into the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) index.
According to him, modules have been developed to take care of the basic and core areas of SMEs development, management and sustainability noting that, with the prevailing technological drive in the chamber, some of the courses will be taken in remote locations while some will be recorded in the same manner as some of them will be taken on locations.
The courses billed to commence from March 2018 are spread across the year.
Prof. Adesugba who is a an expert in Business Development and Investment said Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) have already been signed with several globally renowned institutions in the fields of Gemology, ICT, Business Law, Leadership and Business Management and Public Service centres and organizations.
He also informed the carefully selected partners and volunteers that most of the courses are to be certified with Diploma and Advanced Diploma from the partnering institutions.
In her explanation, the Coordinator of the centre, Victoria Akai-Dare informed that the courses will be driven through creativity that will see to the maintenance and enhancement of strong, long-term relationship that will ensure prospects of businesses.
a�?The BEST center investment promotion trainings are already being introduced to governments and agencies at the federal and state levels who are involved in the investment and Foreign Direct Investment processes at state and of investment. The trainings on custom processes will be targeted at upcoming businesses involved in import and export activities.
The specific courses cut across ICT, gemology, business, entrepreneurship, marketing, product development and branding, leadership management, health safety, environment, hospitality, law, project management, accounting, pre and post retirement trainings.
