Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has on Monday signed the state total budget of over N125.4 billion into law.
Governor Tanko Al-Makura while signing into law the 2018 budget said the budget will enable the state to embark on completion of projects and programmes that will be of immense importance to the citizens of the state.
He commended the speaker and the lawmakers of the state House of Assembly on their quick passage of the budget, adding that government on its part will ensure judicious usage and execution of the budget by according it the principle of accountability to the service of the state.
The AUTHORITY recalls that on November 29, 2017, Gov Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa presented a budget proposal of N122.8 billion for 2018 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly for approval.
However, after deliberations at the floor of the house the lawmakers forwarded to the governor their input on the budget by raising the figure by over N2 billion as they presented the total budget size of N125, 419,689,484.00 as approved by the house to enable the executive initiate projects and policies that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
