ODOGWU EMEKA ODOGWU reports that Target Health, Education and Economic Empowerment (THEEE) Initiative, a non -governmental organization founded by Lady U & Victor Obi Anadiume has again distributed free drugs, wrappers, tomatoes and rice as well as supplements to widows, widowers, Orphans and indigents as well as less privileged and physically challenged persons from four autonomous communities particularly Umungbu and Gbalagu families of Enugu Akwu Achi, Oji River Local Government Area, Enugu state.
The Chairperson of THEEE Initiative Management Committee, Mrs Ifeoma Anyalebechi said the scheme too takes care of Orphans, indigent brilliant students who are being sponsored to various levels of education.
She said that THEEE Initiative has economically empowered all sectors of the society, adding that the youths and women of Enugu Akwu communities were also economically empowered with over Fifty Million (N50m) interest free revolving loan.
Anyalebechi said the NGO has partnered NHIS to cater for the health of Achi people through Izundu Medical service, Oji River and will soon organize football competition at grass root for inter village matches. She said a family was recently sponsored to India to treat their baby with medical challenges successfully, while complimentary feeding cereals and infant milk of high quality and right nutrient composition were shared to mothers in Enugu Akwu to support their undernourished babies.
Mrs Anyalebechi said the gesture from THEEE Initiative founders, Omeluora 1 of Achi, Mr Victor and Lady U Obi Anadiume has been on in the past ten (10) years and its cost implication is in several millions of naira and that over 6,000 persons have benefited in the last 10 years.
Beneficiaries including Mrs Patience Iloh , Mrs Josephine Ezeaputa , Susanna Akasibe , widows, and Mr Moses Nnebe , a widower prayed God to preserve the initiators of THEEE Initiative as they have touched their lives positively. They also asked God to grant the Obi Anadiume’s health and life as they have continued to invest in the lives of the Achi citizens and residents especially the widows and widowers.
And for some other members of the THEEE Initiative Management Committee, Chief Dennis Okwute , Engr Darlington Anyalebechi and Mr Tony Ngwu were grateful to Mr Victor Obi Anadiume and wife Lady U for sustaining their philanthropy in Achi in the last 10 years championing rural development , pipe borne water , healthcare and food apostolate.
As well, a team of blind beneficiaries led by Mr Emmanuel Uchendu aka Omekaozodi were excited they were remembered to partake in the largess and prayed for God’s mercies upon the Anadiume’s.
In an interview, the Deputy Commander, Enugu State Neighbourhood Watch, Community Policing, Mr Everest Ndubuisi Ifeme, aka Brazil lauded the support Sir Victor and Lady Obi Anadiume render to security of Enugu state starting from Oji River where he assisted in great measure the police, DSS, and Vigilante groups under Oji River Security Association. He informed that youths have been empowered too.
Mr Ifeme said the state Commander of the Enugu state Neighbourhood Watch Mr Hilary Egbeigwe , state Commissioner Deacon Ndeke and state Patron Mr Dominic Ogbonna are all happy with Sir Victor and Lady U Obi Anadiume for their support to the security of Enugu state, asking God for more favours upon them to enable them support more.
